Obado Calls for UDA and ODM Unity in Support of Ruto After Raila’s Endorsement
Migori County United Democratic Alliance (UDA) chairman, Zachary Obado, has urged members of the Luo community supporting ODM to collaborate with their UDA counterparts in backing President William Ruto.
Speaking in Uriri, Obado emphasized the importance of unity between the two political parties, as both factions currently endorse President Ruto. He referenced recent political realignments, highlighting the appointment of former ODM chairman John Mbadi to lead the National Treasury, despite his earlier criticisms of Ruto’s administration. Furthermore, he noted ODM leaders like Hassan Joho, now Cabinet Secretary for Blue Economy, and Wycliffe Oparanya, Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSME, as indicators of the evolving political environment.
“The call for collaboration is crucial. We must advocate for unity in diversity and assist Ruto in fulfilling his commitments to the citizens,” stated Obado. He remarked that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s support for Ruto represented a significant shift in the nation’s political narrative.
“Raila recognized the potential for change before many others,” Obado urged UDA and ODM supporters to emulate his example. “We find ourselves at a pivotal point, and I encourage UDA and ODM supporters to unite under a broad coalition. “
