Lang’ata MP Faces Backlash Over Allegations of Ethnic

Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwour, also known as JALANG’O, is facing allegations of hiring only LUOs in his office, leading to discontent among his constituents.

Residents of Lang’ata constituency have expressed concerns regarding the lack of transparency in payroll and staffing within the office of their Member of Parliament, Phelix Odiwuor.

Complaints have surfaced regarding the staffing distribution within the MP’s team, with key positions reportedly held predominantly by individuals from a single ethnic group.

This includes roles such as the Constituency Manager, Constituency Field Officer, Youth Representatives, and Constituency Researcher.

Local residents are demanding more transparency in hiring practices, payroll management, and overall accountability within the office, alleging favoritism and a lack of diversity in staffing choices.

Questions regarding fair representation within the constituency office remain largely unanswered.

This comes just days after residents protested outside the Lang’ata NCGDF offices over unpaid dues that have accumulated over five months.

The protest has intensified dissatisfaction within the constituency over perceived leadership and governance issues.

“Hi Nyakundi. There is an issue here in Lang’ata concerning how things are managed in Jalang’o’s office.

“People are closely connected, and there is a lack of transparency, particularly in the distribution of positions.

“Residents are questioning how individuals were selected and why many are from the same community. During Hon. Korir’s tenure, everything was clear; he consistently shared a list of staff members.
