Stand Up and Oppose: Gachagua’s Message to Ruto’s Allies in Mt Kenya.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has criticized individuals close to President William Ruto who are obstructing his endeavors to bring together the Mt. Kenya region.

Gachagua revealed that certain individuals from the Mt. Kenya region, who are in proximity to Ruto, have been disparaging him on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, while outwardly professing support for him.

While addressing a gathering, Gachagua remarked, “They engage in conversations on WhatsApp groups, a space they consider secure, but in public settings like funerals, political events, and even churches, they express solidarity with my quest for unity in Mt. Kenya.”

Gachagua conveyed to the assembled leaders that it would be challenging for him to advocate for national cohesion when there is discord in his own backyard.

The Deputy President also anticipated the necessity for promoting national harmony even prior to President William Ruto’s decision to establish a comprehensive government.
