Authorities in Embu County have launched an investigation after the body of a middle-aged man was discovered in a secluded thicket in Kiriari Riamaciri Village, Ngandori West.
The deceased, identified as 52-year-old Kenneth Muchagi Njiru, was a resident of Riamaciri Village. His body was found on Thursday, February 6, along a frequently used footpath connecting the village to Kathangari Shopping Center.
Locals suspect that Muchagi was murdered on Wednesday night before his remains were dumped at the location. The motive behind the killing remains unclear.
Danshon Njiru, the victim’s father, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his son and called on law enforcement to conduct thorough investigations to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
“My son was in good spirits the last time I saw him. I never imagined I’d be called to identify his lifeless body just hours later,” Njiru lamented.
Friends and neighbors, who gathered at the scene, described Muchagi as a kind and peaceful man who maintained good relationships with those around him.
“He was always friendly. It’s devastating to see his life end this way,” a neighbor shared.
Reports indicate that Muchagi was last seen at a local bar in Kathangari Trading Center on Wednesday evening, socializing with friends.
Police officers from Kangaru Station arrived at the scene and later transported the body to Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary for an autopsy and further investigations.
