Senator Cherargei Urges President Ruto to Fire Sports CS Murkomen

A vocal Kalenjin senator has urged President William Ruto to remove Sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, pointing to his lack of effectiveness and advancement in the ministry.

Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei and Murkomen are in opposition, with the former accusing the latter of corruption and ineptitude in every position he has occupied.

Their disagreements were evident when Murkomen was part of the Roads and Transport Ministry.

In a discussion with NTV, the senator implied that it was unwise for Ruto to reinstate Murkomen to the Cabinet after dismissing him and others in July this year.

“I want to thank the president for previously dismissing him. He should not be in the Cabinet now.

“He was ridiculed and driven away in Eldoret because he does not fulfill any role at the Ministry of Sports,” stated Cherargei.

Last week, Murkomen faced significant harassment in Eldoret when he tried to join a Gen Z event in the center of the town.
