Political Earthquake as MP Drops Bombshell Over Ruto’s Explosive Ksh10 Billion Allegation!

Embakasi North MP James Gakuya has unleashed a fiery rebuttal aimed directly at President William Ruto, demanding an immediate and thorough explanation over his stunning claim that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua asked for Ksh10 billion — a move Gakuya says was a botched political hit job that has backfired spectacularly.

“This wasn’t just a casual remark. It was a full-blown ambush meant to destroy Gachagua’s image. But guess what? It’s blown up in the President’s face,” Gakuya declared during a heated press address on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

The MP did not mince words, slamming Ruto’s statement as an unfounded and dangerous ploy meant to paint Gachagua as a power-hungry and corrupt politician — without offering a shred of solid proof.

“You don’t just throw a grenade like that and walk away! Ten billion? For what exactly? To allow you to visit Mt. Kenya? That’s not just unbelievable, it’s outrageous!” Gakuya fired back.

Gakuya accused the President of weaponizing deception to fracture the Mt Kenya political base by demonizing his former ally, Rigathi Gachagua. He blasted the allegations as vague, poorly timed, and deliberately misleading.

“Let’s be honest. If Gachagua really made such a demand, where’s the evidence? Why wasn’t this part of the official impeachment documents? Ruto can’t just hide behind State House gates and toss such explosive accusations like confetti,” Gakuya said.

Adding fuel to the already blazing political fire, the legislator reminded the public that Gachagua, as Deputy President, already held immense constitutional power — casting even more doubt on the need for such an outrageous request.

“He was second in command! If he wanted influence, he already had it. So where does this bizarre ten billion demand fit in? The numbers, the logic—it’s all falling apart,” he continued.

The explosive accusation from President Ruto came just days earlier, on March 31, during a televised address at Sagana State Lodge. Ruto claimed Gachagua threatened to politically destroy him if the money wasn’t paid — a statement that has since rocked the nation.

“He told me, ‘You’ll be a one-term president if you don’t give me what I asked for.’ I refused. Let it be one term then,” Ruto had boldly stated.

But Gachagua isn’t taking this lying down.

In an interview aired April 7, 2025, a visibly furious Gachagua dismantled the President’s story, branding it a fabricated smear campaign orchestrated just in time for Ruto’s Mt Kenya visit.

“This is a scripted lie designed to paint me as selfish and greedy. But I’ll tell you this — I never demanded a cent from him,” Gachagua fired back.

He even accused Ruto, the National Intelligence Service, and Interior CS Kithure Kindiki of masterminding his political downfall, pointing to major inconsistencies in the statements of pro-Ruto allies like Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah and blogger Dennis Itumbi.

“Their stories don’t even line up. First it was about access, then money, now Mt Kenya loyalty? It’s all smoke and mirrors,” Gachagua blasted.

As the nation watches this political drama unfold, one thing is clear — the gloves are off, and the fallout from this Ksh10 billion saga is only getting started. The public wants answers, and the pressure is mounting.
