Ndeti Urges Luo Support for Kalonzo’s 2027 Presidential

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has called on the Luo community to back Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2027 presidential campaign.

Ndeti emphasized that the Kamba community has consistently supported ODM leader Raila Odinga, and now it is time for Raila’s supporters to reciprocate for their son Kalonzo in 2027.

“As the Kamba community, we have supported Baba for 15 years, and during that time, Raila garnered significant votes, winning in several constituencies here in Luo Nyanza. I have the figures to back that,” Ndeti stated.

She spoke to mourners during a burial ceremony in Ng’iya, Alego, Siaya County, on Saturday.

The Machakos CEO was joined by her Siaya counterpart, James Orengo, a seasoned politician and close ally of Raila.

Ndeti continued, “I want to inform you that Kalonzo Musyoka has decided to vie for the presidency. So now, you are our friends. Come and join us. Fifteen years of sacrifice have been made. When I campaigned for Raila, I was a young girl; now I’m a mature woman. ”

“We ask you to stand with us and Kalonzo because we have been loyal to you, and it’s only fair that you return the favor. ”

In response, Orengo advised that Kenyans should prioritize addressing constitutional, structural, and electoral challenges.

“Wavinya, you have spoken well, Kalonzo is my friend, but let’s take a step back. We need to find solutions; right now, even in Kalonzo’s camp, there is division with people like Kioni and Wamalwa expressing their own ambitions,” Orengo remarked.

“So, within that group, there are divisions. Leave Raila out of this; he is leading a national movement. If we cannot tackle the issues such as constitutional and electoral problems, we will face difficulties. ”

Safina Party leader and former 2022 presidential candidate Jimi Wanjigi stated that political unity should not be founded on tribal lines.

“We are open to collaborating with anyone, but it must be on the pressing issues affecting the public, not on tribalism. Tribal affiliations are outdated and belong to the past,” Wanjigi said.

“We must unite over the challenges troubling the nation, including the economic hardships. ”
