Mungatana Questions Muturi’s Delay on Son’s Abduction Case

Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana has criticized Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi for waiting six months to address the abduction of his son during the Gen Z protests in June of last year.

In a recent interview, Mungatana expressed skepticism about the timing of Muturi’s statements, questioning why the issue was raised now if the abduction occurred six months prior and his son is not in police custody.

“When he was the Attorney-General, he should have come out and said there is a problem. Why wait six months? ” Mungatana remarked.

He also pointed out that Muturi did not establish a clear connection between state actors and his son’s abductors, noting, “There was really no evidence that Muturi placed before the public to suggest that officers he was working with were involved. ”

Mungatana further acknowledged that government security agencies had neglected their duties, leaving the issue of abductions for the courts to resolve.
