Kalonzo Musyoka DEMANDS 2027 Presidency, Others Step Aside!

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has declared that he will not back any other presidential hopeful, insisting that the time has come for others to step aside for him.
The former Vice President highlighted his significant sacrifices, noting that he had previously withdrawn in favor of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on three occasions.
In a radio interview with Mulembe Nation on Thursday, Kalonzo expressed confidence that he is the most viable contender to challenge President William Ruto in the 2027 elections.
“I’ve waited two decades. Eventually, even the world recognizes when it’s your turn,” Kalonzo stated. “Now is the time for others to make room for me so that we can save this nation.”
Kalonzo has supported Raila’s presidential campaigns in 2013, 2017, and 2022.

His own presidential bid in 2007 ended in defeat to Mwai Kibaki, after which he became Vice President in the Grand Coalition Government.
Explaining his past decisions to step aside for Raila, Kalonzo said his actions were always made after thoughtful discussions and analysis.
“People often ask why I kept stepping down. It wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision but one based on dialogue and a careful assessment of the situation,” Kalonzo explained. “For 15 years, I have put Raila first.”
He also recalled his decision to withdraw from the 2002 race to support Mwai Kibaki, even before Raila’s famous ‘Kibaki Tosha’ declaration.
Kalonzo’s latest remarks may disrupt opposition efforts to unite behind a single candidate to take on Ruto in 2027.
He is currently working with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa to build a coalition aimed at challenging Ruto.
The coalition also plans to bring in former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, with plans to propose a unified candidate.
