Kalonzo is charged with trying to “overthrow” Raila from his leadership position at Azimio.

Samuel Ochilo, the first speaker of the Homa Bay county assembly, has censured a faction of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition leaders, spearheaded by Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper party, for their purported plot to remove Raila Odinga from the coalition’s leadership.

Following President William Ruto’s appointment of four ODM leaders to his cabinet, Ochilo accused Kalonzo of plotting to remove Odinga from office.

According to Ochilo, a number of Azimio leaders led by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka called a news conference to protest the nominations, implying a coup against Odinga’s authority.

In the absence of Odinga, the leader of the Azimio Coalition, Musyoka conducted the news conference on their behalf. The NARC-Kenya and ODM parties did not attend the summit.

He did, however, object to the resolution put out by the Azimio leaders, claiming that it amounted to Odinga’s removal as the head of the alliance.
