Gachagua Unleashed: UDA Betrayal Sparks Birth of New Party.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is set to launch his own political party this Thursday, May 15, in Lavington, Nairobi signaling an explosive split from President Ruto and the UDA camp.

Sources confirm the new party will be known as the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) an outfit officially registered on February 3, 2025, under the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties.

The party’s colors green, brown, and black and a striking logo featuring a hand reaching for an ear symbolize a bold promise: to listen to the common mwananchi.

DCP’s fiery slogan, “Kazi na Haki” (Work and Justice), sets the tone for what Gachagua calls a revolution against betrayal and political deceit. In a stinging Monday declaration, Gachagua tore into UDA, accusing it of operating on empty promises and a sham of a manifesto.

“What we believed in has been utterly destroyed. The party we trusted has become a dangerous tool in the hands of self-serving elites,” he thundered.

Calling UDA a “sinking ship of lies,” Gachagua blamed it for stalling Kenya’s potential for growth and reform, stating bluntly: “They squandered Kenya’s golden chance to rise economically, socially, and politically.”

UDA’s response? Dismissive. In a statement posted on X, the ruling party scoffed at Gachagua’s dramatic exit, calling it “cheap drama.”

According to them, Gachagua’s membership was already revoked months ago when he was booted from his deputy party leader role.“The man is putting on a show,” the statement read. “His exit is old news we already stripped him of membership.

This is nothing more than political theater.”As the countdown to DCP’s official unveiling begins, all eyes are now on Gachagua. Is he a fallen deputy seeking redemption or the face of a new political wave in Kenya?
