Following public outcry, Parliament has sent proposals to remove MUDAVADI’s office, meaning he might lose his position at any time.

Musalia Mudavadi, the Prime Cabinet Secretary, might lose his job soon. This is after the National Assembly suggested the abolishment of his office after a public commotion, saying it was unconstitutional.

The Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro-led National Assembly Select Committee on Budget and Appropriations received these suggestions.

The Parliament found that the proposal would be sent to President William Ruto for action in the Budget and Appropriations Committee’s Report on the First Supplementary Estimates for the Financial Year 2024/25.

The team led by Nyoro maintains that the Executive Office currently held by Musalia Mudavadi can only be abolished by the Presidency.

According to the report, “The Committee has taken note of this proposal and will put forward a proposal for consideration by the Executive, noting that the reorganization of the executive is a prerogative of the Presidency.”

The committee would then present the proposal to the executive. While the Financial plan and Appointments Board perceived the proposition to cancel Mudavadi’s office, the rearrangement of the Leader was gone against by the Council on Organization and Inner Security.

This was especially true with regard to the demise of the First Lady’s Office and the Deputy President’s Spouse’s Office. The Board noticed that the sudden abolishment of those workplaces could uncover the public government to suit.

If President William Ruto accepts the demise of Mudavadi’s office, a similar scenario could emerge. Generation Z protesters questioned the need to publicly fund the First Lady and Spouse of the Deputy President’s offices, which led to their removal.

It is anticipated that the taxpayer will pay more than Ksh530 million for staff in those offices to have their contracts terminated.
