Tottenham Players ‘Quit’ on Postecoglou – Shock Exit Looms!

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is facing increasing uncertainty over his future, with claims emerging that his squad has lost faith in him.

The 59-year-old, who took charge of Spurs in June 2023, has endured a tough season, with the club languishing in 14th place in the Premier League following 13 defeats. Their Carabao Cup campaign also ended in disappointment after a crushing 4-0 loss to Liverpool overturned their previous 1-0 advantage.

Despite these struggles, club executives, including chairman Daniel Levy, reportedly continue to back Postecoglou and are actively planning reinforcements for the January transfer window.

However, ex-Watford striker Troy Deeney has cast doubt on the manager’s grip over his squad, suggesting the players abandoned him during their latest defeat. Writing in The Sun, Deeney stated, “Anyone who has played the game can see that most of those Spurs players gave up—not just on the manager, but on the fans and the entire club.”

He also noted that only one player attended the post-match media briefing, reinforcing his belief that the squad has distanced itself from their embattled coach.

Should Spurs decide to part ways with Postecoglou, several potential replacements have been identified, with Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola emerging as a leading contender.

Iraola has gained attention as one of the Premier League’s most promising managers, guiding Bournemouth to seventh place despite dealing with an injury crisis that sidelined key forwards Evanilson and Enes Unal. However, prying him away from his current club may require a hefty compensation fee.

Another strong candidate is Brentford’s Thomas Frank, who earned praise for securing Premier League promotion via the Championship play-offs in 2021 and sustaining Brentford’s top-flight status. Frank has previously expressed interest in taking on a bigger challenge, hinting that he could be open to a move.

Former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is also linked to a return, despite his current role at Chelsea. The Argentine, who was dismissed in 2019, has openly expressed his desire to finish “unfinished business” at the club, though his potential involvement in the U.S. national team’s 2026 World Cup campaign could be a stumbling block.

Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna, who guided his side to Premier League promotion after 22 years, is another name in contention. Having spent time in Spurs’ academy and coaching ranks, McKenna’s familiarity with the club, coupled with his impressive rise in management, makes him an intriguing option.

Meanwhile, Edin Terzic, who previously led Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final, is currently unattached and rumored to be eyeing a move to North London. Reports suggest he turned down an opportunity with Turkish club Besiktas, anticipating a potential agreement with Spurs.

With speculation intensifying around Postecoglou’s future, all eyes are now on Tottenham’s next move in the managerial hot seat.
