Kenyan Premier League fans are set for a thrilling double-header at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday after key fixture changes reshaped the weekend schedule.
KCB will now take on Ulinzi Stars at 4:00 p.m, with the match moved from its initial Friday slot at Police Sacco Grounds, while Kariobangi Sharks will face Mara Sugar earlier at 1:00 p.m at the same venue.
The rescheduling sets up a compelling afternoon of football, with all four teams entering the clashes at different points in their respective campaigns.
KCB head into their tie as the strongest side among the quartet, currently sitting sixth on the table with 40 points from 27 matches.
The bankers have shown resilience in recent weeks, bouncing back from a brief dip to secure important results, including a narrow 1–0 victory over Bidco United that reignited their push for a top-five finish.
Their opponents, Ulinzi Stars, find themselves under pressure in 15th place with 25 points.
The soldiers are hovering just above the relegation zone and have struggled for consistency, losing their most recent match 1–0 to APS Bomet. With survival at stake, Ulinzi will be desperate to upset KCB and gain crucial points.
Earlier in the day, Kariobangi Sharks, placed 14th with 26 points, will look to snap a poor run of form when they face 11th-placed Mara Sugar. The Sharks have managed just one win in their last five matches, though a recent goalless draw against leaders Gor Mahia showed signs of defensive improvement.
Mara Sugar, meanwhile, continue to build a reputation as draw specialists, having registered 13 stalemates this season. However, their recent 1–0 win over Posta Rangers highlights their ability to grind out results.
With league positions tightening and pressure mounting, Saturday’s double-header promises high stakes and intense action at Kasarani.
