SHOCKING! Kiambu Governor Wamatangi ARRESTED in Massive Corruption Raid.

In a dramatic Tuesday morning swoop, Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi was arrested and whisked away to the EACC headquarters in Nairobi, barely hours after his home and office were raided by anti-graft detectives.

But it didn’t end there—nine other senior county officials were also caught in the net, with their premises combed through in connection to explosive allegations of embezzlement and shady dealings involving public funds.

Tension exploded in Kiambu as stunned residents witnessed Wamatangi being driven away in the backseat of a high-end SUV, waving helplessly while under tight security. Meanwhile, angry locals erupted outside his residence, chanting furious slogans and accusing President William Ruto of turning a blind eye to the county’s financial rot.

Their protest was quickly silenced by heavily armed police officers, who blocked any attempt to halt the convoy escorting the embattled governor and his associates to Nairobi.

This shock arrest has reopened deep wounds in a county already haunted by past corruption scandals. Former Governor Ferdinand Waititu, now serving a 12-year sentence, was jailed just two months ago over a jaw-dropping Ksh588 million fraud case.

Adding fuel to the fire, Senator Karungo Wa Thangwa had earlier sounded the alarm in February, accusing Wamatangi of manipulating the county’s payment systems—switching from automation to manual methods in a suspected move to facilitate phantom workers. The senator claimed Ksh390 million vanished into thin air under the new setup.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is expected to address the nation shortly, with many Kenyans anxiously awaiting answers in what is fast becoming a national scandal with major political shockwaves.
