Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo warned that President William Ruto face trouble. This happen if Raila Odinga fails to secure the African Union Commission (AUC) seat.

The issue stems from the significant State resources invested in the campaign. Maanzo expressed concerns during a live show on Citizen TV, suggesting that it is premature to predict Raila’s victory.

He criticized Ruto’s development tour in the Nyanza region, questioning the timing as residents expect Raila to win.

President William Ruto embarked on a 4-day tour of Nyanza shortly after launching Raila’s AUC bid. The tour includes inspecting projects like the Lower Kuja Irrigation Project and inaugurating the Ngere-Mapera Road.

Raila has garnered support from various African leaders, including Presidents of Tanzania, Uganda, and South Sudan. He aims to replace Moussa Faki of Chad as the term nears its end. He promises a people-centered AU. He also pledges unity across Africa.

Raila Odinga, supported by President Ruto, is now tasked with rallying further African support for his AUC bid. The process involves engaging with other countries to secure backing for his candidacy.

Raila’s vision for the AU focuses on reforms. It also includes capacity-building and fostering unity among African nations. He prepares to compete for the leadership role.
