Raila Mocks Gachagua Over Failed Bid to Block Ruto Handshake

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga ridiculed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for falling into a scheme he had devised for him at State House.

While speaking to a gathering in Vihiga during ODM Deputy Party Leader Godfrey Osotsi’s Thanksgiving Ceremony, Raila took the chance to publicly discuss Gachagua’s difficulties, including the former DP’s impeachment.

Utilizing his signature riddles, the hopeful chair of the African Union Commission mentioned ‘traps’ that were reportedly established by Gachagua in the government to ensure Raila remained excluded from a potential partnership with the Kenya Kwanza administration.

“A trap was established to catch a mouse, but the one who created the trap was the one who ended up caught,” Raila stated.

“He went to State House proclaiming he was setting a trap for Baba. He insisted there would be no handshake, no coalition government (Nusu mkate). Where is Gachagua now? ” Raila continued amid the crowd’s applause.

The former Prime Minister was alluding to Gachagua’s notorious remarks in the past where the former Deputy President indicated he had devised traps to ensure Raila did not enter the government.

“My boss and I had consented to set traps so that Raila does not enter the government through the backdoor; I would inspect the traps each morning and evening,” Gachagua asserted.

However, Gachagua ultimately fell into the trap himself after being ousted from government by President William Ruto and his associates through impeachment.
