Azimio leader Raila Odinga has claimed that he has not forwarded any names to President William Ruto for consideration in cabinet positions.
Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio, has said that he hasn’t given President William Ruto any names to look at for cabinet positions.
Raila said in a statement on Tuesday, July 23, that he and his ODM party were of the opinion that the government should address the important issues that were brought up earlier before engaging in any kind of discussion.
“We know exactly where this government’s problems are and the cracks that previous governments have used to steal money from taxpayers. Under Kibaki’s administration, economic expansion resulted from the resolution of these issues during the Government of National Unity.
The former Prime Minister added that his ODM party and Azimio coalition were in solidarity with the issues raised by the young generation. “Unfortunately, these problems have resurfaced, and the Gen-Z movement is right to demand an end to them,” Raila said.
“Our obligation to the causes advocated by Gen-Z stays unflinching. These are similar issues we have for some time been battling for, including during last year’s Maandamano fights,” he added.
At a similar time, the ODM pioneer cautioned his party individuals against joining the public authority backing a previous assertion by the party’s secretary general Edwin Sifuna.
Raila’s remarks came after a group of ODM leaders disagreed about President Ruto’s plan for a broad-based government. “Taking a bureau secretary position for the sake of ODM sells out the standards of the Constitution and the dynamic development which the party addresses.
It’s outright bad form and a demonstration of political human flesh consumption,” Siaya Lead representative James Orengo expressed.
The ODM pioneer had at first supported the move by the Head of State yet he conveyed inconsistent messages on Sunday, July 21, in the wake of giving new requests before any exchange with Ruto’s administration.
11 cabinet members have already been appointed by President Ruto, including six members of his previous cabinet.
