East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP David Ole Sankok has made a statement. He said that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is Kenya’s ‘longest-serving president’.
Sankok mentioned that Raila has served alongside four Heads of state, making him the longest-serving president in the country.
He highlighted Raila’s collaborations with past presidents like Moi, Kibaki, Kenyatta, and Ruto, emphasizing their transitions from conflicts to partnerships.

Sankok acknowledged Raila’s ability to foster peace and build alliances across political divides. He recounted instances where Raila and other leaders reconciled their differences.
These leaders include President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto. They managed to work together. Sankok praised Raila’s diplomatic skills.
He cited his role in the handshake government. He also mentioned Raila’s potential as a peacemaker at the African Union Commission.
Despite past disagreements and attempts to undermine Raila’s political influence, Sankok expressed admiration for Raila’s resilience and statesmanship.
He recounted how Raila overcame challenges, including imprisonment and political opposition, to emerge as a key figure in Kenya’s governance. Sankok’s remarks show a shift in perception towards Raila.
They acknowledge his enduring impact on Kenya’s political landscape. They also recognize his capacity to navigate complex relationships for the greater good.
