A man in Mwihoko, Githurai subcounty in Kiambu allegedly stabbed and took the life of his 16-year-old daughter during a domestic dispute.
The 45-year-old man also inflicted stab wounds on his wife, who has been admitted to Ruiru subcounty hospital and is receiving treatment in serious yet stable condition.
Police stated that the landlord of the property in Mwihoko, where the man resided, reported the event.
The man reportedly left home due to family disagreements with his wife.
He later returned to the same property and aggressively knocked on the door.

“As his wife, 45, opened the door, he seized their three-year-old son and claimed he was taking him with him,” a police report indicated.
“The wife attempted to resist and the husband grabbed a kitchen knife, stabbing her in the head before turning to their 16-year-old daughter, who was pleading for help, and stabbed her in the back. ”
Police reported that the man fled to an unknown location, leaving behind the knife and his unharmed son.
Neighbors hurried the victims to Ruiru subcounty hospital where the daughter was declared dead upon arrival while the mother was admitted.
“Police arrived at the scene about one kilometer east of the station and necessary measures have been taken,” the police report stated.
A bloodied knife believed to be the weapon used in the murder has been recovered from the site.
Police officers subsequently visited Ruiru Subcounty Hospital and discovered the deceased’s body on a hospital bed with a stab wound on her back while the mother was receiving treatment for head injuries.
The deceased has been processed and transferred to the Thika Level Five hospital morgue awaiting an autopsy.
This incident follows a recent case where a man killed his estranged wife before taking his own life in Kamandura village of Kamirithu in Limuru, Kiambu County.
The suspect was reported to have died by suicide after the event.
The village elder informed the police after encountering the severely mutilated body of the victim found in a cornfield.
