Kenyan Woman to Be Executed in Hours as Ruto Makes Last-Minute Plea to Vietnam!

A Kenyan woman, Margaret Macharia Nduta, is facing imminent execution in Vietnam after being convicted of drug trafficking. With her execution scheduled for Sunday, March 16, Gatundu North MP Elijah Njoroge Kururia confirmed that President William Ruto and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have reached out to Vietnamese authorities in a last-minute bid to save her.

Nduta was arrested at Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City after being found in possession of over two kilograms of drugs. Despite her claims of innocence, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Court handed down a death sentence on March 6, reinforcing Vietnam’s strict anti-drug laws.

The case has sparked public outcry in Kenya, with citizens urging the government to intervene. Kururia, speaking in a TikTok Live session, expressed optimism, revealing that Kenyan officials are awaiting feedback from Vietnam.

Nduta’s legal options are now limited. She can either appeal the sentence, which is unlikely to succeed without new evidence, or hope for diplomatic intervention from Kenya’s government. President Ruto may make a direct plea to Vietnam’s leadership on humanitarian grounds, but with limited diplomatic ties between the two nations, her fate remains uncertain.
