Kalonzo Musyoka Chairs Town Hall Meeting at Ufungamano House

Kalonzo Musyoka, the new Azimio leader, recently chaired a town hall meeting at Ufungamano House. This was his first official duty since being appointed as the coalition leader.

He replaced Raila Odinga. This event was attended by various stakeholders, including Gen Z, the youth, private sector representatives, and civil society members.

The meeting focused on a range of issues like defending the constitution and education.

Kalonzo’s appointment as the new coalition leader comes as Raila Odinga transitions. He is seeking the position of the next African Union Commission chairperson.

This signifies the end of his involvement in local politics.

The decision to select Kalonzo as the new leader was made through consensus by all coalition members. Eugene Wamalwa expressed confidence in Kalonzo’s leadership abilities.

Despite Raila’s departure, the Azimio coalition aims to keep strong leadership and unity under Kalonzo’s guidance.

During the town hall meeting, Kalonzo showcased his dance moves to the popular Arbantone song ‘Anguka Nayo’. The song has become a symbol of unity and resistance.

This gesture reflects Kalonzo’s commitment to standing with Gen Z in demanding accountability from the government. As Kalonzo takes on his new role, he emphasizes the importance of continued leadership within the coalition.

He also stresses the need to uphold the coalition’s values and objectives moving ahead.
