Kajiado Senator Seki Lenku Kanar has called for the resignation of Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo over what he described as rampant political goonism in the country.

Speaking in Loitoktok, Kajiado South, on Saturday, the senator accused the Interior Ministry of failing to address rising cases of violence targeting political leaders.
He claimed that the situation has created fear among leaders who openly criticize the government.
The senator alleged that attacks against politicians have become more frequent in recent weeks, with little or no action taken against those responsible.
He warned that such incidents threaten democratic space and freedom of expression.
According to him, the ministry tasked with ensuring internal security appears to be overlooking cases involving politically motivated violence.
He insisted that leadership must take responsibility for what he termed a breakdown in law and order.
Lenku further stated that failure to act decisively could embolden perpetrators and worsen the situation across the country. He urged security agencies to remain neutral and protect all citizens regardless of their political affiliations.
He emphasized that political tolerance is key to maintaining peace and stability, especially as the country continues to experience heightened political activity where unchecked goonism could undermine public trust in institutions.
The senator also called on fellow leaders to speak out against violence and promote peaceful engagement in political discourse.
He noted that silence from leaders may be interpreted as acceptance of the vice.
