Kenya is staring at a political and security storm after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua issued a chilling warning to the nation’s youth—stay off the streets or risk being slaughtered.
In a fiery interview on Kameme TV, Gachagua claimed the government was plotting a deadly ambush on peaceful protesters during the June 25 memorial demonstrations.
He alleged that President William Ruto and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja were orchestrating a sinister plan to unleash hired goons to incite chaos and kill demonstrators.
“They’ll bring in goons from Kayole, Umoja, and other estates… not to protest, but to kill. Our children will be set up and slaughtered in cold blood,” Gachagua warned. He implored parents to keep their children at home, describing the protests as a trap designed to justify police brutality and possibly mass bloodshed.
“This government is desperate. Blood brings them satisfaction. But we must not offer our children to the slaughterhouse,” he added emotionally.

Fear Grips Nairobi Ahead of Protest Anniversary
The June 25 protests are expected to mark the anniversary of last year’s deadly anti-tax demonstrations. Civil society groups and opposition leaders are calling for a national remembrance, with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka urging citizens to gather peacefully outside Parliament for a candlelight vigil.
“We must honour the young lives lost and the injured with dignity,” Kalonzo told worshippers in Kilifi.
Gachagua: Ojwang Death a State-Cover Up
Gachagua also weighed in on the outrage over the murder of teacher Albert Ojwang, who died in police custody after allegedly criticizing Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat online. He questioned the government’s version of events and accused state agents of faking arson reports to frame peaceful demonstrators.
“No cars were burnt. No reports were made. NTSA checks show they were unregistered. It’s all a setup to attack the youth,” he declared.
2027 Election Integrity Under Fire
Gachagua didn’t stop there. He turned his guns on the newly reconstituted IEBC, suggesting it was stuffed with Kenya Kwanza loyalists, but expressed confidence the regime would still suffer a crushing defeat.
“Even with rigging attempts, Ruto will lose by over 5 million votes. Kenyans are tired,” he said, rallying Gen Z to register as voters and shape their future through the ballot.
Gachagua Cuts Off Ruto
In a final jab, Gachagua claimed he no longer takes calls from the President. “I have nothing personal against Ruto. But he has betrayed the Mt. Kenya people.
He’s using fringe parties to divide us,” he said, referring to groups like Tujibebe and Chama Cha Kazi.Tensions are now at a boiling point as Kenyans await June 25—a day that could ignite a new wave of political resistance or descend into chaos. All eyes are on Nairobi.
