Gachagua Declares He’ll Be Remembered for 30 Years, Slams Ruto for Betrayal and ‘Bean Politics’

In a fiery declaration that stunned congregants and sent ripples across the political landscape, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua boldly proclaimed that his presidency will be remembered for three decades and beyond, promising seismic changes that will outlive his time in office.

Addressing worshippers at a charged church service in Murang’a County, Gachagua didn’t mince words. “Mark my words—Kenya will never forget what I’m about to do. We are laying the foundation for a new era. This isn’t business as usual,” he thundered to loud applause.

A Leadership Earthquake Is Coming

The former Mathira MP vowed to lead a revolution in governance—one rooted in sustainable development, economic empowerment, and lasting national unity. He said Kenyans have grown weary of broken promises and token leadership, and are now craving a transformational figure to rewrite the country’s story.

“Our people are done with cheap politics. They’re hungry for real leadership—and I’m here to deliver that. The wave is unstoppable,” Gachagua said with conviction.

“Defeating Ruto Will Be Easy”

Turning his guns on the current administration, Gachagua said the public’s growing discontent has made it easier than ever to dislodge President William Ruto from power. Backed by swelling support from Mt Kenya and beyond, he declared himself the people’s champion.

“People are ready. They’ve had enough. Overthrowing this regime? It won’t even be difficult,” he claimed, drawing cheers from the crowd.

Beans, Rice, and Insult: Gachagua Blasts Ruto’s ‘Handout Politics’

The former deputy president didn’t stop at policy critiques—he slammed President Ruto for what he called an insult to the Mt Kenya region, accusing the government of distributing beans and rice while ignoring farmers’ real needs like fertilizer.

“This administration has mocked us. Sending beans and cash instead of the tools we need to farm is not help—it’s humiliation,” Gachagua said sharply.

He condemned MPs aligned with the president for handing out food and small cash bribes to sway support, calling it “gross disrespect” to a proud and hardworking community.

“They’re giving women five hundred shillings under tents like it’s a favor. Are we that cheap? Are we that desperate? This must end,” he declared, his voice rising.

“This Is Not My Camp—It’s the People’s Camp”

Refuting media claims that President Ruto had politically ‘besieged’ him, Gachagua issued a stinging correction: “This camp doesn’t belong to Rigathi—it belongs to the people of Mt Kenya. You’re not attacking me. You’re insulting the entire community.”

Accusations of Betrayal and Political Sabotage

In a bombshell accusation, Gachagua alleged that Ruto has a long history of betrayal—dating back to 2007—claiming the president has repeatedly used Mt Kenya votes for personal gain only to cast their leaders aside.

“This man plotted against us in 2007. Then he tricked us again with Bible verses and promises, and now he’s sidelining our strongest voices—starting with me, then Linturi, then Muturi. Who’s next?” Gachagua asked pointedly.

A Warning for 2027

As his speech reached a crescendo, Gachagua issued a stark warning to voters ahead of the 2027 elections:

“If this is how he treats us now, imagine the contempt we’ll face if he secures another term. We cannot afford another betrayal. Kenya deserves better.”
