Gachagua Identifies the Instigator Behind Njenga’s Disruption of Wife’s Prayer Event
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua spoke out forcefully after Maina Njenga, the former leader of the Mungiki, interrupted a prayer event hosted by his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi.
During the prayer event held in Nyeri, Njenga, along with a group of youths, intruded, leading Dorcas to exit through a back way in the company of Nyeri Deputy Governor David Wairui. The gathering was taking place at the Kamukunji Grounds, where Dorcas was set to preach.
As attendees sang praises in the VIP tent, Njenga and his group disrupted the proceedings. Gachagua responded by blaming President William Ruto and his administration for orchestrating the interruption, alleging that the government dispatched Njenga to thwart his wife’s efforts.
He condemned the use of criminal elements to disturb a peaceful prayer meeting, stating, “Unleashing the leader of an outlawed criminal gang and his goons to disrupt peaceful prayers and desecrate the altar is the lowest any government can go, no matter the level of desperation,” in a tweet.
Following Dorcas’s departure, Njenga took her place in the tent, marking his third appearance in Nyeri in just three weeks.
Gachagua and Njenga have a contentious history, with speculations that Njenga is being utilized by the government to diminish Gachagua’s influence in the Mt. Kenya region.
