CS Oparanya, the recently appointed cooperative, is threatening to resign.

Wycliffe Oparanya, Cabinet Secretary for the Development of Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and Cooperatives, has vowed to quit if the government disregards his advise.

Speaking on Sunday, August 11, during a church service in Nairobi, Oparanya asserted that he was employed by the government because of the job he had done while serving as governor of Kakamega.

According to the ex-governor, he gave his word to cooperate with the administration but vowed to resign if he was ignored.

“I am a servant, as you are aware. People from Kakamega have witnessed the job I completed there. For this reason, these folks have come to see how helpful this elderly man can be with his profession.

I’ll assist them, but I’ll leave and return home if I order them to go in a certain route and they don’t,” said Oparanya.

The CS claimed to have listened to the young people who were moaning about unemployment and promised to provide answers.

“I’ve heard the youth claim that they don’t work or own enterprises. I’m here now to make sure they have work to do. That’s what I do,” Oparanya declared.

He added the youths were welcome to come to his Nairobi office.

“The young people and even the older generation are free to come to my office so that we can help each other,” Oparanya said.
