Two elderly men found murdered in Kwale villages

Authorities stated that the bodies have been transported to the mortuary, awaiting autopsy and investigation.

The first occurrence took place in Kilibasi village, where an individual was discovered deceased within his residence. Mwachinda Tsimba’s body was located on his doorstep following the murder on June 4.

Detectives are probing the distinct cases in which two elderly men were discovered slain in various villages within Kwale County.

Instances of violent crimes against the elderly are prevalent in this region. Law enforcement has connected some of these incidents to land disputes.

The initial event transpired in Kilibasi village, where a corpse was found inside a house.

Mwachinda Tsimba’s remains were found on the threshold of his dwelling after the June 4 murder.

His body exhibited severe lacerations on the head, which authorities believe were made by a sharp instrument.

The occurrence seemingly took place at the door’s entrance, as his body was positioned there alongside shopping bags he had brought home.

According to police, the door was secured at the time, and it is suspected he was attempting to unlock it before collapsing and succumbing there.

At that moment, he was living alone following his wife’s passing.

His four children were not present during the incident, as reported by law enforcement.

The motive behind the killing remains undetermined.

In a different location in Lungalunga, Kwale County, a 69-year-old man named Alfani Salim was murdered in an assault outside his home.

His lifeless body was discovered on a mat outside his residence, surrounded by a pool of blood and multiple injuries to the head, neck, shoulder, and wrist in Dzombo village.

Police indicated that the deceased was sitting outside while his wife was engaged in preparing dinner when the attack occurred on Wednesday evening.

The reason behind the attacks is still unknown.

Officials confirmed that the bodies have been taken to the mortuary, pending autopsy and further investigation.

Most incidents are still under inquiry, according to police.

In another case in Awendo, Migori County, a man inadvertently killed his two-month-old child while assaulting his wife during a domestic altercation.

The suspect was apprehended after an autopsy revealed that the infant had died from head trauma.

The man’s spouse informed the authorities that the baby was struck with a crowbar, which the suspect wielded while attacking her in their domestic dispute.

Law enforcement detained the suspect and performed an autopsy, confirming the cause of death.

Authorities indicated that the suspect is facing murder charges. He claims the occurrence was unintentional.

Additionally, in Nyakach, Kisumu County, a man was lynched amid allegations of attempting to burglarize a residence.

This incident took place in Wanda village.

The remains of the individual were discovered along the roadside on Wednesday following the murder.

Police condemn mob justice and label it as a criminal act.
