Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua has made a bold and explosive claim — only one man stands between President William Ruto and a second term: Wiper party boss Kalonzo Musyoka.
During a heated appearance on Citizen TV, Wambua didn’t hold back, stating that Kalonzo is no longer playing second fiddle and is finally ready to take the bull by the horns in 2027. “He has propped up others for years — but this time, Kalonzo is stepping into the arena, and he’s coming for the presidency,” Wambua thundered.
Wambua painted Kalonzo as the dark horse turned front-runner, armed with a deep national reach and an unshakable grassroots base that could turn the 2027 polls into a political earthquake. “In 2022, Kalonzo wasn’t even Raila’s running mate — yet his supporters showed up in massive numbers. If anyone can boot Ruto from State House, it’s Kalonzo,” he declared.

But that’s not all — the senator unveiled what appears to be the rebirth of a powerful political machine reminiscent of the legendary 2002 NARC wave. According to Wambua, Kalonzo is quietly piecing together a high-stakes super-coalition featuring political heavyweights like Martha Karua, Eugene Wamalwa, and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Even former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Speaker Justin Muturi are reportedly on board, reviving echoes of the coalition that swept Mwai Kibaki into power over two decades ago.
“This is not just a political formation — it’s a comeback of titans. The 2002 dream team is rising again,” Wambua revealed.
Meanwhile, Gachagua has hinted at a tactical masterplan currently in the works — a secret opposition blueprint to challenge Ruto’s reign. Details, he says, will be unwrapped in December 2026, and Kalonzo is expected to be at the heart of every major decision.
With alliances shifting and the political atmosphere growing electric, one question now looms large over Kenya: Could Kalonzo Musyoka really dethrone William Ruto in 2027?
