Kalonzo Reacts as Archbishop Ole Sapit Shuts Down Political Speeches in ACK Churches!

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has set the record straight—he and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua were not blocked from speaking at ACK St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Nairobi on Sunday. Instead, they chose to remain silent as the church delivered a scathing rebuke against corrupt politicians.

“The Anglican Church made it clear—no one who steals from Kenyans should come and bribe them with that money,” Kalonzo revealed on March 17.

On Sunday, Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit issued a nationwide ban on political speeches in ACK churches, accusing politicians of turning pulpits into platforms for incitement rather than service.

“Effective immediately, no politician will be allowed to address our congregations. They will be recognized by name, but if they wish to speak, it will be outside the church,” declared Archbishop Sapit.

In a further crackdown, Sapit warned politicians against publicizing their church donations: “We want to make it clear—offerings in the Anglican Church will not be announced. Give as God leads you.”

The high-profile service was attended by Kalonzo, Gachagua, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, George Aladwa, Sabina Chege, and Senator Veronica Maina—marking a dramatic shift in the intersection of politics and faith in Kenya.
