Mumias East MP Peter Salasya Blasts Raila Odinga, Labels Him a Threat to Kenyan Politics
Mumias East legislator Peter Salasya has strongly criticized former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, describing him as the biggest obstacle to Kenya’s progress.
Speaking at the launch of the Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) headquarters yesterday, Salasya expressed his wish for Raila to secure the African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship to remove him from the country’s political arena.
The first-term MP openly voiced his frustration with the recent actions of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), particularly its collaboration with President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government.
Salasya was especially critical of ODM members who participated in an event organized by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka. He warned opposition leaders against allowing ODM representatives to bring their party agendas into such gatherings.
“Politics is full of chaos. If I were a minister at that event, I would have taken the microphone from them. You can’t attend our meeting and start talking about ODM issues,” Salasya said.
He went on to express his disappointment: “This has deeply upset me; I couldn’t even sleep. I urge Kenyans to stay vigilant and not be misled by those who aim to create confusion.”
Salasya added, “Someone comes to your event to discuss ODM while we’ve already moved on. I’ve even mentioned on radio that I’m praying for Raila Odinga to get the chairmanship he desires so he can leave us alone.”
The DAP-K event, which brought together several notable political figures, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, highlighted the growing tensions and shifting alliances within Kenya’s political landscape.
