Governor Kahiga Acknowledges Young Women’s Impact on Social Media

Governor Mutahi Kahiga Addresses Advances from Young Women on Social Media: “There Are Functions I Cannot Handle”

Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga has disclosed that he has been receiving advances from young women, commonly referred to as Slay Queens, through his social media platforms.

The 65-year-old actively engages on X (formerly Twitter), with over 22,000 followers, and on Facebook, where he has more than 37,000 followers. He notes that a considerable number of these women attempt to seduce him on a daily basis.

Despite the temptations, the Governor admits that he cannot physically engage due to his age. “The problem is that the heart is willing, but the body is not. I recently turned 65. There are functions I cannot handle,” Kahiga stated in a YouTube interview.

He explained, “I am a realist. These girls often plead with me to accept them, but I cannot do that. It would bring trouble and hardship into my life. I approach situations with a realistic perspective,” he emphasized.

Governor Kahiga is married to Caroline Wamaitha Mutahi, and together they have three children, the youngest being 23 years old.

A former trade unionist, he became Nyeri’s fourth governor on November 13, 2017, following the tragic passing of his predecessor, Dr. Wahome Gakuru, in a road accident.

Kahiga, who served as Gakuru’s deputy, successfully retained his position in the 2022 general election, defeating his nearest competitor, Dr. Thuo Mathenge of the NDP.
