MP Eric Wamumbi Accuses Rigathi Gachagua of Orchestrating Fake Abductions to Stir Chaos!

Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi has urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to probe alleged staged kidnappings at Olive Gardens Hotel, which he claims are linked to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

In a letter addressed to DCI Director Mohamed Amin on Monday, January 6, 2025, Wamumbi alleged that the hotel serves as a hub for planning fake abductions aimed at stirring public unrest.

“I have credible information that meetings are being held where youths are instructed to fake abductions under the direct influence of Gachagua,” he stated.

The MP also criticized Gachagua for targeting Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, whom he praised as a committed and professional officer focused on upholding law and order.

“Gachagua must stop his unwarranted attacks on Kanja. The IG has shown exemplary dedication to ensuring public safety,” Wamumbi said.

He also expressed sympathy for parents dealing with the distressing issue of missing children and warned against groups spreading misinformation or inciting divisions among citizens.

The statement comes as public anxiety over abductions grows, with the National Police Service (NPS) recently confirming the safe recovery of four missing persons, including Billy Mwangi and Ronny Kiplangat.
