During an interview, Joho emphasized that his choice to assume the CS role was solely aimed at serving Kenyans.
The former Mombasa Governor stated that his new role in government enabled him to fulfill the commitments his Azimio coalition made to Kenyans during the 2022 elections.
Addressing his previous criticisms of Ruto’s government, Joho disclosed that he has since altered his perspective and now acknowledges Ruto as his superior.
“There is no betrayal at all, we are acting on what we can do now because we have the opportunity. For example, had we succeeded, we would have accomplished the same promises made to Kenyans,” Joho remarked.
“Ruto is now my superior and I see him as the leader of the country, and we share a positive relationship. We have collaborated before in various aspects of politics,” he added.
Joho went on to criticize Kenyans who are dissatisfied with President Ruto’s administration, asserting that those voicing complaints about Ruto’s government have no valid grounds to do so.

He also encouraged the public to remain patient as the government works diligently to develop permanent solutions.
“There are significant initiatives underway, and while some take time to yield results, just like anyone with a plan, certain things take longer than others,” Joho stated.
