Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has indicated that the impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been a challenging experience for her. The legislator noted that it has predominantly impacted leaders from Kenya Kwanza, as they worked diligently to establish the government.

Gachagua is currently facing an impeachment motion in the Senate and was scheduled for cross-examination on Thursday afternoon. “He has been our leader; we have been in the trenches with him, fighting for this government, and so it has come to this. I can assure you that we are not particularly very excited about it,” Nyamu stated.

“I have interacted with him on numerous occasions; if you look on the internet, you will see photos of me dancing with the Deputy President. ” Nyamu expressed that, having grown up in Nairobi where tribal issues are not central to development, she was affected by Gachagua’s use of local dialect to address Nairobi residents.

Nyamu has accompanied the Deputy President at various events throughout the country. In January, she shared a dance with him during a wedding ceremony in the central region. Known for his dance moves, Gachagua has never hesitated to take to the floor.

He has, on multiple occasions, been joined by other leaders showcasing their dancing abilities. Senators are currently engaged in a debate regarding the motion to impeach the Deputy President. Earlier, the impeachment trial faced an unexpected interruption when the Deputy President was absent during the afternoon session.

Gachagua, who attended the house for the impeachment trial, did not show up for the afternoon session, raising concerns about his whereabouts. However, the Deputy President’s legal team, led by senior counsel Paul Muite, reported that they had received information indicating that the Deputy President had fallen ill and been admitted to the hospital. “The sad reality is that the Deputy President has been taken ill and is currently in the hospital. ” “That is the unfortunate reality,” Muite stated.

A senior medic at Karen Hospital, Dr. Dan Gikonyo, has also confirmed that Gachagua is currently in stable condition.

“He presented with chest pains, and when a patient arrives at the hospital with that symptom, our primary concern is to determine whether it relates to the heart. Our responsibility is to ensure there is no risk of a heart attack,” Gikonyo explained.

“That is why we have admitted him, and he is undergoing various tests, blood tests, and an ECG to assess any potential dangers.

“At this moment, he is stable, the pain has diminished, his blood pressure is normal, and we are continuing with the investigations.”
