Luhya Leaders Call for Mudavadi as Deputy If Gachagua Faces Impeachment

Luhya community leaders want Musalia Mudavadi as Deputy President. This appointment is contingent upon Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment. This call comes from prominent figures. Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka and Matungu MP Peter Nabulindo back Gachagua’s potential impeachment.

They believe Mudavadi would be a suitable successor. They emphasize Mudavadi’s calm demeanor and leadership qualities as reasons for their support.

The leaders argue about the established leadership protocol. If the Deputy President vacates the position, the Prime Cabinet Secretary should step in. Mudavadi now holds this position.

Aseka highlighted that Mudavadi’s position in the government hierarchy makes him the rightful candidate for the role of Deputy President. This perspective is rooted in the belief that leadership transitions should follow a clear and respectful order.

Lurambi MP Titus Khamala expressed his views. If the Deputy President’s position becomes available, a leader from the Luhya community should rightfully take it. He stated that they would welcome the opportunity.

They are preparing for the upcoming 2032 general elections. This indicates a strategic political move for the community.

The Luhya leaders are positioning themselves to take advantage of the political landscape. They advocate for Mudavadi’s appointment. At the same time, they support Gachagua’s impeachment. Their actions show they want greater representation and influence within the Kenyan government. They aim for this, especially as they look ahead to future elections.
