Gachagua Allies Warn Ruto and Criticize Ichung’wah.

The battle for supremacy in Mt Kenya continued to escalate on Friday. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s allies fired back at the 48 rebel MPs. The MPs disassociated themselves from the second in command on Thursday.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s allies held a rally in Nyeri, criticizing the 48 rebel MPs who distanced themselves from him. They warned President William Ruto of consequences. These would occur if Gachagua is pushed out of the government. They accused someone of trying to divide Mt. Kenya.

The allies questioned why Gachagua is being targeted despite accommodating the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) into the government. They vowed to resist any attempts to remove Gachagua. They emphasized that he was elected by the people. Only the people can remove him.

The allies also criticized National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah for allegedly leading the charge against Gachagua. They dismissed the significance of the Nyahururu Declaration and reaffirmed Gachagua’s popular backing among the Mt. Kenya population.
