After NARC Kenya, Another Azimio Party Sees Fit to Leave the Coalition.

The Party of National Unity (PNU) has hinted at leaving the Azimio la Umoja Coalition.

The Party of National Unity (PNU) has indicated that it will withdraw from the Azimio la Umoja Coalition.

Addressing the press on Monday, July 29, PNU pioneer Peter Munya unveiled that the party’s authority will meet next Thursday to determine the destiny of the party in the alliance.

He claimed that those who wanted to be in the opposition would have to split if the ODM party, which is a part of the coalition, joined the government.”

Next Thursday, there will be a PNU NEC meeting where we will conclude our stand as a party in regards to our relationship with the Azimio alliance in light of the fact that ODM party has joined the public authority.

Furthermore, on the off chance that they have joined the public authority, they can’t be in government and furthermore in resistance.

Munya made the observation that “if Azimio has become part of the government, those of us who want to be in opposition have to separate ourselves so that we can continue to defend the citizens of Kenya.”

The former Agriculture CS also made the observation that the Constitution requires that there be people in government as well as people in opposition.

“You can’t be in that frame of mind in resistance simultaneously. So with a ton of regard to our accomplices in Azimio, we wish them well in government however they should settle on a choice to move totally into government or remain in resistance,” he added.

His comments come after NARC Kenya party pioneer Martha Karua declared her exit from Azimio on Thursday, July 25.

In an explanation to newsrooms, Karua, who was Raila Odinga’s running mate in the 2022 general political decision, noticed that NARC Kenya’s visit in Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Partnership was as of now not valid.
