Multiple vehicle crash on Southern Bypass results in two fatalities and three serious injuries.

• Three others were seriously injured in the Tuesday 6.30 am accident that happened near Ole Sereni area, police said.

Multiple vehicles collided on the Southern Bypass in Nairobi on Tuesday morning, resulting in the deaths of at least two people. Three others were seriously injured in the 6.30 a.m. incident near the Ole Sereni area, according to police.

The driver of a truck traveling in the Kikuyu direction lost control, crossed over into the opposite lane, and collided with a trailer. Three other vehicles behind the trailer headed in the direction of Kikuyu were said to have been affected by the impact, according to witnesses.

The impact caused a fire to break out, destroying the vehicles. Both the drivers were killed on the spot, Public Police representative Dr Resla Onyango said. According to police, one of the drivers had been burned beyond recognition.

Other passengers were evacuated from the affected vehicles as rescuers rushed to the scene.

The travelers had been caught. Dr. Onyango stated, “We are investigating how and why it happened.” A fire engine rushed to the scene and assisted in the fire’s containment. During the rescue mission, police diverted traffic away from Mombasa Road, resulting in a traffic jam.

This is the furthest down the line mishap to occur in the country. Up to 4,000 individuals are killed every year in isolated mishaps. A campaign is underway to deal with the threat. Injuries to numerous others result from incidents that harm families.

According to the National Transport and Safety Authority, hit-and-runs, bursting tires, and vehicles and motorcycles losing control were the most common causes of fatal crashes.

Head-on collisions are also mentioned as a result of improper overtaking and failing to maintain the proper lane. A campaign to deal with the threat is being carried out by the police and other agencies.
