Wandayi Tells Critics Back Ruto Or Name Better Friend

Speaking at a public forum in Ugunja constituency, Wandayi challenged those opposing President Ruto to declare who they would rather support, insisting that Ruto has demonstrated genuine friendship and commitment to all regions of the country.

He challenged those who are telling, for example, the Luo community not to support President Ruto, to tell them who else has shown the community true friendship.

“Ukituambia tusiunge mkono Rais William Ruto, tueleze tuunge mkono nani.

The CS praised Ruto for recognising communities that had long felt marginalised, describing him as the first Kenyan president to fully integrate them into the national fold. He emphasised that Ruto’s administration has prioritised equitable development across all corners of the country.

Wandayi further urged residents to back Ruto’s bid for a second term, arguing that continued support would ensure sustained progress. He stated that they must stand with President Ruto and help him secure a second term so that development in that region continues to move forward.

The Energy CS also recalled Ruto’s political history, noting his support for former opposition leader, the late Raila Odinga, during the disputed 2007 elections.

Wandayi said that this demonstrated Ruto’s longstanding commitment to political alliances and national unity.

His remarks come amid growing criticism of the government’s economic policies and political direction, with opposition voices accusing the administration of failing to deliver on key promises.08:18 17/04/2026
