I Was At The Heart Of The Mt. Kenya Forest – Gachagua Reveals His Whereabouts Last Week.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has finally broken silence about his whereabouts last week after he missed crucial state functions.

Speaking on Tuesday May 21 during the burial of former Kianyaga High School Principal Julius Kano Ngumbi, Gachagua revealed that he was in at the heart of Mt Kenya Forest.

The Deputy President noted that he took a seven-day leave to pray and meditate on the state of the nation and the welfare of the people of Mt Kenya.

“I had taken seven days away for prayers and fasting, meditation and reflection in the heart of Mt Kenya forest. I had no phone and nobody could disturb me. I had given clear instructions because I wanted to reflect and meditate about the state of our nation and the welfare of the people of our region,” Gachagua revealed.

The second in command’s absence from the public and government functions raised questions from across quarters last week.

Gachagua was absent when the president led the members of his Cabinet in the nationwide tree-planting exercise on May 10.

Later, he could not be spotted at State House, Nairobi, where President Wiliam Ruto and the Cabinet members hosted visiting Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

Throughout the period, Gachagua’s official social media accounts remained un-updated.

The DP showed up on Sunday, May 19 during a church service at the Sacred Heart Endarasha Catholic Church in Kieni Constituency, Nyeri County.
