Treasury CS John Mbadi Accuses Kikuyus of Betrayal.

Treasury CS John Mbadi accused the Kikuyu community of betraying the Luo community since independence.

Speaking in Dholuo, Mbadi claimed that the Kikuyus have let down the Luos who have supported them since 1963. He mentioned that President William Ruto had placed the Kikuyus in their rightful position.

He did this by forming a broad-based government with opposition leader Raila Odinga. Mbadi also alleged that the Kikuyus were behind the Gen Z protests. These protests almost toppled Ruto’s regime in June and July.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and former President Uhuru Kenyatta were implicated in the protests. There was no direct evidence linking them to the deadly demonstrations.

These demonstrations resulted in the deaths of over 60 youths and many injuries. Mbadi’s accusations were captured in a video where he labeled the Kikuyus as betrayers in front of Ruto.
