Three UK-based Kenyan women have booked flights to Nairobi on Tuesday to participate in the Gen Z protests, which are calling for President William Ruto’s resignation due to poor governance.
Kenyans urged President William Ruto not to sign the Finance Bill 2024 after it had passed through parliament, which was the beginning of the Gen Z protests. After a few fights in the roads that finished in Kenyans breaking parliament, the Money Bill 2024 was at last removed.
However, a few weeks later, Kenyans are still protesting in the streets and have issued a list of demands that Ruto and his government should abide by in order for them to leave the streets.
Gen Zs have pledged to oppose Ruto’s new cabinet nominees and hold a demonstration on Tuesday in Nairobi’s CBD.
Having watched the unfurling occasions from the UK, Sharon, Jennifer, and Nicole have chosen to book flights and join their kindred nationalists in battling for good administration.
“It’s an awakening that we are selecting our next leaders; we are sick and tired of bad leadership and corruption.
“We want to come and implement it at home after reading books like Kifo Kisimani, Utengano, and Waziri Wa Mayai, among others,” Nicole stated to a local newspaper, “It is not our wish that our country burns, but if things go badly, we would rather the reset happens immediately than for the suffering to be prolonged for a long time.”
