Senators allied to former DP Rigathi Gachagua boycotted the Senate committee elections yesterday

 

Lawmakers in the President William Ruto-Raila Odinga camp secured all leadership positions. 

Senate JLAHR Committee elections: Sen Hillary Sigei (Bomet) unanimously re-elected Chair while Sen Veronica Maina elected Vice Chair. New members: Senators Tom Ojienda, Dan Maanzo and Crystal Asige join the committee.

The Senate Committee on Labour & Social Welfare unanimously re-elected Senator Julius Murgor (West Pokot) as the Chairperson with Sen Crystal Asige elected as Vice Chairperson

Sen. Mohamed Faki (Mombasa) and Sen. Karen Nyamu (Nominated) unanimously elected as the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Land, Environment, and Natural Resources respectively.

Sen. Allan Chesang (Trans Nzoia) and Sen. Miraj Abdulrahman (Nominated) unanimously re-elected as the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) respectively.
