SAKAJA: “Sikuona umuhimu wa kusukuma gari kwenye mteremko”

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja was compelled to address inquiries from Kenyans on social media regarding his refusal to testify against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in the Senate.
In a statement on his X account, Sakaja implied that it was the end for the Deputy President, comparing the situation to a vehicle descending a hill.
Sakaja remarked that there was no necessity to push a vehicle that was already rolling downhill.
“Hakuna haja ya kuskuma gari kwa mteremko. ” “That’s it,” Sakaja responded. Loosely translated to “there is no need to push a car that is going downhill. ” It is over.

Sakaja was set to testify against Gachagua and had submitted an affidavit regarding some of his actions and statements.
In his affidavit, the Nairobi County Governor accused the Deputy President of interfering with the management of the county government and the policies implemented by his administration.
The contested Deputy President is also alleged to have fostered ethnic division within the county through his speeches.
