Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has commended President William Ruto as a political strategist, forecasting that he will effectively secure support from former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s stronghold for his 2027 presidential campaign.
Speaking on Tuesday following President Ruto’s successful visit to Kisumu County, Amisi attributed the Head of State’s political achievements to his strategic financial management and relationship manipulation.
The passionate lawmaker characterized Ruto as a “very intelligent, aggressive, shrewd, and calculating politician” who adeptly applies financial resources to sway results.
Amisi compared Ruto’s tactics in the Mt Kenya region during the 2022 elections with his forthcoming approach in Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s stronghold.
He contended that Ruto had effectively taken advantage of the close connection with former president Uhuru Kenyatta, garnering support from Uhuru’s followers while maintaining proximity to the populace, in contrast to Uhuru’s notable absence.
“He capitalized on their close rapport, received support from Uhuru’s base, and stayed connected to the people, while their leaders were easily accessible, unlike Uhuru, who was frequently missing.
“Disregard other underlying factors. This was the decisive factor,” Amisi asserted.
Amisi anticipated that Ruto would employ a similar strategy in opposition leader Raila Odinga’s stronghold.
