Ruto Didn’t Want to Fire Muturi – Ex-Police Boss Drops Political Bombshell!

Former Police Spokesperson Charles Owino has stirred up controversy, claiming that President William Ruto never intended to fire Justin Muturi but was instead forced into it by Muturi himself in a calculated move to gain public sympathy.

Speaking on Citizen TV on Thursday, March 27, Owino suggested that Muturi saw the political tides shifting in Mt. Kenya and deliberately provoked Ruto into dismissing him, knowing it would boost his image.

“I don’t believe the President planned to kick him out. Muturi orchestrated his own exit, pushing Ruto into a position where he had no choice but to act. This is pure political strategy,” Owino asserted.

Muturi’s Next Move?

Owino described Muturi as a shrewd politician who likely has his eyes set on a bigger prize—either the Embu Governor’s seat or reclaiming the Mbeere North MP position from Geoffrey Ruku.

“He’s playing the long game. Don’t be surprised if he makes a move for the Embu governorship or even Ruku’s seat,” Owino speculated.

Ruto’s Cabinet Shake-Up Sparks Debate

Ruto’s latest government reshuffle, announced on March 26, saw Muturi ousted after just eight months in office, with Geoffrey Ruku stepping in as his replacement. Despite speculation, Muturi has vehemently denied resigning, insisting that he never intended to leave and that there was no legitimate reason for his removal.

The reshuffle also placed Aden Duale in charge of the Ministry of Health—a decision Owino believes was purely strategic.

Duale’s Role: The Government’s New Mouthpiece?

According to Owino, Ruto picked Duale not for his expertise in health but for his ability to control the narrative.

“The biggest issue in the Ministry of Health isn’t policy—it’s communication. People don’t understand Universal Healthcare, the Social Health Authority, or the Social Health Act. Duale is there to talk, to sell the government’s agenda,” Owino declared.

As tensions rise over these high-stakes political maneuvers, one thing is clear—Kenya’s political landscape is shifting fast, and the fallout from these decisions is just beginning.
