Raila Odinga Demands End to Abductions

End the abductions now or face consequences…RAILA confronts RUTO over the ongoing abductions

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has expressed deep concern regarding the current abductions in the country. He criticized President William Ruto and his administration for not addressing the situation effectively.

In this new development since the formation of a broad-based government, Raila urged Ruto’s administration to be transparent with Kenyans about the ongoing abductions.

During the funeral of Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) Chairperson Roseline Adhiambo Odede, Raila insisted that the abductions must cease as Ruto had previously promised, warning that failure to do so would lead to significant repercussions. He also called for compensation for the victims of abductions.

“I stated earlier this year that abductions must end. If Ruto claimed it would be resolved, then it should be. We must stop the arrests of these children,” Raila asserted. He further questioned why no arrests had been made concerning the abductions.

Raila criticized Police IG Douglas Kanja for denying knowledge of those responsible for the abductions, highlighting that the abductees are often found in handcuffs. “Handcuffs are not just ordinary items; only the police have access to them. Who possesses these handcuffs? ” Raila inquired.

He also condemned leaders for misleading Kenyans, stating that a nation cannot thrive on falsehoods but on integrity. Raila reassured Kenyans that despite his pursuit of the AUC, he remains committed to advocating for their rights. “Even if I am heading to Addis Ababa, I will not be taken there. I have not changed. We must address these issues,” Raila affirmed.
