President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua on Thursday, May 30 arrived at Safari Park Hotel for the National Prayer Breakfast meeting.
The Head of State and his deputy were seen walking while having a chat as the National Prayer Breakfast kicked off. President Ruto and Gachagua were accompanied by their spouses First Lady Rachel Ruto and Pastor Dorcas Rigathi.
In their company was speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula and other leaders. The National Prayer Breakfast which is sponsored by the Kenyan Parliament, and organized with the help of volunteers from the small prayer breakfast groups, is traditionally held on the last Thursday in May.The First Kenya NPB took place in May 2003, shortly after the late former President Mwai Kibaki came into office.
The purpose of the National Prayer Breakfast is to meet, engage, interact, and together pray for the nation in the company of fellow leaders from all sectors of society. Some of the leaders who are present include Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana, Senator Veronica Maina, Kimani Ichung’wah, Silvanus Osoro, Speaker Amason Kingi, and Isaac Mwaura among others.
