Pastor Ng’ang’a Sparks Outrage After Refusing to Help Struggling Mother!

Controversial preacher James Ng’ang’a has hit back at critics after facing backlash for refusing to help a struggling mother, Milka Moraa.
Dismissing accusations of lacking compassion, Ng’ang’a insisted he had no duty to assist those in financial distress, accusing the media of unfairly targeting him.
“Media people, find your peers to debate with. You claim I didn’t help that woman—why don’t you talk about those I have helped? My church isn’t the government. I am not appointed by men,” he declared.
Ng’ang’a maintained that his ministry is a place of worship, not a charity, urging those seeking financial aid to look elsewhere.
“If you want to help the needy, start your own church. Don’t come here saying you haven’t paid rent. If you think I will cover it, you’re mistaken,” he added.
He also took a jab at police officer Sammy Ondimu, who later stepped in to support Moraa, hinting that such generosity would come with consequences.
“Wait and see. It will cost you,” he warned.

Background on the Incident
The controversy erupted after a viral video showed Moraa pleading for help after being locked out of her home over unpaid rent. Instead of offering assistance, Ng’ang’a dismissed her, advising her to seek help from the police or Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.
Public outrage followed, with many condemning his harsh response. Meanwhile, Ondimu raised funds for Moraa, helping her secure a home and a job through a government initiative.
Despite the backlash, Moraa later expressed gratitude, saying she held no grudge against Ng’ang’a and even appreciated his advice.
GBV Remarks Spark More Controversy
In January 2025, Ng’ang’a faced further criticism for making inflammatory remarks about gender-based violence (GBV), suggesting certain clothing and makeup contribute to sexual violence.
The Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) slammed his statements as reckless and damaging, demanding a public apology.
“Such comments trivialize survivors’ suffering and reinforce dangerous stereotypes that normalize GBV,” KEWOPA stated.
Ng’ang’a remains defiant despite mounting criticism, fueling ongoing debate about his controversial leadership and public statements.
